da aposte e ganhe: Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United defender Vladimir Coufal has been playing with an ankle injury for the last month or so and will likely miss the club’s next game.
What’s the latest on Vladimir Coufal’s injury and WHUFC?
da cassino: David Moyes’ men picked up a hugely important win in the Premier League over the weekend as they thumped Nottingham Forest 4-0 at home.
A victory such as that will come as a huge morale boost amid the threat of relegation. However, it wasn’t all good as during that game, Coufal had to be substituted off at half-time.
While speaking about the defender after the match, Moyes explained: “Coufal has got a bit of a heel injury, he’s been feeling a bit on his heel but I didn’t think it was quite that bad, but he had to come off with it at half-time.”
In a more in-depth update on the situation, Ex revealed that his issues have been going on for about a month now and this should rule him out for the FA Cup tie against Manchester United mid-week.
While speaking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex said (6:45): “Coufal has an ankle injury. He’s been playing with his ankle injury for around about a month now, playing through the pain.
“And the pain got too much for him against Nottingham Forest, which is why he was subbed off at halftime.
“Some people believe it was tactical but it wasn’t. It was an injury that did it because he’s actually been playing well the last few games. So he’s probably going to miss the Manchester United game as a precaution but should be available for Brighton.”
What does Vladimir Coufal’s injury mean for the Irons?
The 30-year-old has played 26 times across all competitions for the Irons this term and has started the last nine league games consecutively despite his injury problems – showing just how important he is for Moyes.
No doubt West Ham will want to go far in the FA Cup this season but seeing as they sit two points above the relegation zone, the league will surely be the priority.
With that in mind, it certainly makes sense to finally give Coufal a bit of a rest for the game against Man Utd, allowing him to recover and potentially then be fit to play Brighton on Saturday.
