da roleta: Tottenham Hotspur underwent their best season in a long long time last year. They finished in the Champions League places for the first time since 2009/10, and they really could have won the title.
da bet vitoria: And they did it all with a young squad who will only get better and better this season.
Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Harry Kane all made their England bows recently and Mauricio Pochettino has to take a lot of credit for his player development as well as his work with the actual first team. But with the Premier League getting richer and richer, with the big clubs able to shell out world record transfer fees and other extortionate sums of money for players no one is totally sure about, Tottenham have to be able to compete with some big signings of their own.
That might not be the Pochettino way, but some of the players still at Tottenham could surely have been moved on to free up some cash.
We’ve teamed up with 7 Of The Best to bring you a footballing treat for the season. It’s free to play and the best team each week wins £1,500, as well as monthly prize of £4,000 for the best individual. Want to win bigger? Nab yourself a whopping £500k if you get all seven of your selections correct for seven consecutive weeks.
And it’s in that spirit that we’re bringing you these seven players Tottenham could have shipped out this summer…

Christian Eriksen
He’s wonderful for at least ten minutes in every game, but sometimes you get the feeling that Christian Eriksen doesn’t quite live up to the hype that has surrounded him for the last few years.
He’s clearly a talented player, but perhaps Spurs would have been well-advised to sell up in the summer and put the money to better use, finding a player who’s more reliable than the Dane.
[ad_pod id=’7OTB’ align=’center’]
Son Heung-Min
A fairly big money signing at the start of last season, Son never really hit the heights he was supposed to.
That’s not totally his fault – this time last year, one of the big criticisms of Mauricio Pochettino was that Son didn’t seem like the signing to help Harry Kane get goals for Spurs. Known more as a wide forward, he was always going to struggle if tasked with helping out on the goal-getting front.
That turned out to be the case, and with Vincent Janssen brought in this season with the same goal in mind, perhaps it was time to recoup some of the money paid for Son this summer.
[ad_pod id=’7OTB’ align=’center’]
Ben Davies
A wonderful Euro 2016 with Wales may have boosted the price tag for Ben Davies this summer.
He’s a player who isn’t necessarily going to feature much in the starting XI for Spurs this season, and although backup is needed, given the summer the Premier League has had, it doesn’t seem far-fetched to believe that someone would have paid over the odds for Davies this summer.
[ad_pod id=’7OTB’ align=’center’]
Erik Lamela
An enigmatic talent if ever there was one, Erik Lamela has skill to burn, but most footballers take that much less literally than the Argentinian.
Lamela is quick and skillful, he was seen as the heir to Gareth Bale and a man who would take the Premier League by storm, but he has never really managed to do that.
Perhaps he’ll come good this season, but we’ve said that for years now.
[ad_pod id=’7OTB’ align=’center’]
Jan Vertonghen
He’s a top defender and has formed a wonderful partnership with Toby Alderweireld, but Jan Vertonghen is often bailed out by his Belgian compatriot.
At 29, it might be the time to get rid of Vertonghen and cash-in on his abilities whilst getting another player to partner Alderweireld – it’s a risk, but sometimes you need to take risks like that, especially with all the risk-takers around in the league this summer.
[ad_pod id=’7OTB’ align=’center’]
Kyle Walker
A good summer for Kyle Walker has shown that the attack-loving right back might be maturing, but there are some things to take into account.
Firstly, Walker was playing in an England team who were forced to try to unpick tightly closed defences across Euro 2016, meaning that Walker’s attacking prowess was valued more than his defensive contributions.
In the Premier League this season, perhaps that won’t be the case as teams won’t be as defensively minded as many were at this year’s Euros. After a good tournament, perhaps cashing in would have been an option.
[ad_pod id=’7OTB’ align=’center’]
Federico Fazio
Although on loan at Roma, you do get the feeling that Federico Fazio is the kind of player Spurs could have made more of an effort to actually sell on for some cold, hard cash.
Fazio is a player it seems that Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t really require and whilst getting the player out on loan might allow him to come back into the team next season if he does well at Roma, it seems more likely that Spurs would have been better served by asking for a transfer fee.
