Inter Miami have confirmed that Messi has set yet another MLS record after scoring twice in their 3-1 win over Union on Saturday evening. Those two goals took him to 14 goals and 14 assists for the regular season but also set a new record, as he became the fastest MLS player to reach 15 goals and 15 assists.

Messi set the record within 19 games, breaking the previous best set by Sebastian Giovinco, who managed to reach the same mark in 29 fixtures. Elsewhere, Luis Suarez, who scored Miami's third goal, set a record as he scored his 17th goal of the campaign, the most of any Inter Miami player in a single MLS regular season, bettering Gonzalo Higuain's record of 16 in 2022.
