Leeds United have a number of transfer decisions to make this month, but perhaps one of their most important pieces of business will happen this summer.
Indeed, Jack Harrison has been one of United’s best players this term, contributing to 11 goals in the league, and the Whites have an option to buy him for £8m this summer.
However, with £15m already committed to the permanent transfer of Helder Costa, and Leeds looking to spend big on an obligation to buy a new attacker with Jarrod Bowen and Che Adams linked, there are questions to be raised as to whether or not the Harrison deal will be finalised amid FFP concerns.
Fortunately, an update from The Athletic’s Sam Lee indicates that the Yorkshire outfit are likely to land the winger.

What’s been said then?
Lee was hosting a post-match Q&A session after the Manchester club’s 1-0 win over Sheffield United.
One user asked if Raheem Sterling’s recent poor run of form meant that Jack Harrison would get a chance, or if he’s as good as gone to Leeds.
Another commenter replied stating that the Whites have an option to buy, that they’ll probably take, and the journalist backed up that claim saying:
“Yeah, as Dat says Leeds look pretty likely to buy him.”
Great news
Leeds looking likely to exercise their option to buy Harrison at the end of the season is great news.
The loanee is one of only five players to have started every league game for United this term, and if they lost him at the end of the season they’d be without one of their most important players, and one of their most potent goal threats too.
Indeed, despite being a part of a squad with the likes of Mateusz Klich and Pablo Hernandez, two players who were involved in 19 and 24 goals respectively last campaign, the left-sided player has the second-most goal contributions in United’s squad, sitting just behind Patrick Bamford.
Keeping Harrison will be vital no matter what division Leeds are in next term.
In other news, Phil Hay has said that Leeds won’t be doing one thing this month.
