da aviator aposta: Aston Villa may have picked up a point against Brighton on Saturday, but it was not enough to get them out of the relegation zone.
da imperador bet: The Villans did manage one more shot on target than their opponents, but they still only had three – not really enough considering the situation they currently find themselves in.
Trezeguet’s performance left a lot to be desired. The Egypt international, lining up on the right wing, was unable to have much of an impact on proceedings – he had no shots of any kind and managed just one key pass. Also, he completed just one of the three dribbles he attempted, and prevailed in just one of the eight ground duels he contested.
Red Herring or Real Hero: Only hardcore Villa fans will get all of them right….
Across the Aston Villa team, Jack Grealish is undoubtedly the star man, and is his team’s creative force. He has scored six and provided five assists in the top-flight, meaning he has had a hand in 12 out of his side’s 29 league strikes. Wesley is second with five goals, but he is out for the rest of the season with an injury. Anwar El Ghazi is then third, with four goals and four assists. Whilst that is not terrible, it can certainly be improved upon.
Dean Smith could therefore do with some reinforcements up front to give his team an extra edge. Mbwana Samatta is said to be close to a switch, but that may not be enough. The arrival of Jarrod Bowen as well could be exactly what he is looking for, with reports claiming admirers Villa will have to fork out over £20m to sign him.
The 23-year-old has been one of the best players in the Championship this season – he certainly has the most goal contributions, with 22. 16 of those have been goals, coming from 28 starts in the English second tier. Although he has spent some games as a centre-forward, he has spent most of the campaign on the right, playing 15 times.
He is not just a flash in the pan either – he bagged 22 times last term and 14 the season before that in the Championship. Whilst those strikes may not have come in the top flight, he has proven himself to be a huge goal threat even from the flank. With Jack Grealish on the opposite side, he could give Villa the balance they need, whilst also taking some of that pressure off the captain. It could be a match made in heaven.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa fans react to their links with this striker.
