da leao： Chelsea's injury problems have intensified after the club confirmed that Alex could be sidelined until the new year.
da betsul： The central defender has withdrawn from the Brazil squad to play Argentina this week and will undergo knee surgery.
Alex has already missed Chelsea's games against Fulham and Sunderland due to the injury while, to add to Carlo Ancelotti's current selection headache, John Terry also looks set for a lengthy lay-off as he is undergoing treatment to resolve a problem with a nerve in his leg.
A statement on the club's official website read:"Further to the Chelsea medical team's diagnosis, the Brazilian national team doctors agree that further investigation via arthroscopic surgery is required on the player's right knee. That will take place over the coming days.
"He is expected to be out for approximately six to eight weeks."
