da gbg bet: According to The Birmingham Mail, West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt is in contention to return to the line-up tonight against Swansea.
da 888: The Northern Irishman has missed The Baggies’ last two games, but manager Darren Moore says that he is well poised to return to the team, alongside veteran Gareth Barry.
However, in Brunt’s absence, Moore has turned to James Morrison, as well as a slight tweak in formation.
Morrison has thrived in the heart of the midfield for The Baggies alongside Jake Livermore, and now Moore has to ask whether he should drop the Scotland international, or try and find a way to accommodate Brunt as well.
Whether Moore returns to the formation that served him so well at the beginning of the season is yet to be seen. This set-up consisted of having two central midfielders, but at this stage in the season, Morrison was not necessarily in the picture. However, his good form has forced Moore to rethink his options, meaning he may need to stick to the 4-3-3 shape that has been deployed in previous weeks.
The trouble is, with so many high-level attackers, some good quality players will need to accept being on the bench in this current West Brom team if Moore is to play with three central midfielders. The manager cannot really afford to not play someone like Matt Phillips, but it becomes hard to find a place for him if Livermore, Brunt and Morrison all play.
In all fairness, this is the sort of dilemma that Moore would have wanted at the beginning of the season.
